Gistr has reading tools for videos, podcasts and documents. Use them to mark what is important and to go back to it later.

Transcripts

Videos and podcasts show a transcript beside the player. Select some text in the transcript to see Create Highlight, Create Moment and Copy Transcript.

Highlights

A highlight marks a part of a transcript. You can use a color to show why it is important:

  • Important (yellow)
  • Insights (pink)
  • Revisit (green)
  • Examples (purple)
  • Clarify (blue)

To remove a highlight, select it, then select Delete Clip. You can also select Copy text or Share clip.

Moments and Auto-Highlight

A moment is a part of a video or podcast that you can play again. Use Play all moments to listen to all of them in order. To go to the previous or next moment, press ⌘ and the Up or Down arrow (Ctrl on Windows).

Auto-Highlight finds the key moments for you. It uses credits, and the free plan has a limit.

The player

The player has Playback speed and Add Timestamp. Use a timestamp to link a note to the exact time in the video.
